Кафе дель МИР
WWC-041 Cafe del MIR
Hello everyone! Всем привет! It’s been over three months since I last posted anything. Unfortunately there wasn’t much I could do about that as I was dealing with a medical condition which left little time for anything else. Fortunately that’s behind me now and I’m back posting and will continue for as long as I’m able, or until I run out of material, whichever comes first:)
This time I’ve done a compilation set along the lines of something you might hear from Cafe del Mar, thus the title of this program, which translates as ‘cafe of peace’ or ‘world cafe’ (MIR can have either meaning).
In keeping with the style of Cafe del Mar and the late DJ José Padilla I’ve kept this international in scope, featuring artists from around the world. While the music isn’t exactly in the Cafe’s signature “chill out” style, it follows the same DJ format and hopefully sounds like something you might hear from them. A tribute of sorts I suppose. I’ve always enjoyed compilation albums because they expose you to a wide range of artists you might otherwise not hear, so good for listener and artist alike.
I’ve included photos as I like to see the artists I’m listening to, but I haven’t done any bios as they are all well known in their native lands, and easy to find on a web or YouTube search (which is another way of saying I’m too lazy to do my homework).
I had fun making this one and might do more along the same lines depending on the response. This is not new ground for me as it follows the style I used for our annual Christmas parties back in the day, where the challenge was to play something that appealed to people from different parts of the world, and somehow make it all fit together and keep everyone moving over the course of an evening.
