Presenting Dasha Shultz of St. Petersburg, one of my favourite singer-songwriters.
Dasha started classical guitar lessons at 13, and by 16 was posting songs on Twitter, including an Ellie Goulding cover, which caught the attention of Goulding’s producer Finlay Dow-Smith (Starsmith). Presumably he mentioned her to Oleg Nesterov who produced her first album, ‘Moloko’ (2018) along with musicians Dmitry Pavlov and Anton Dashkin from his band Megapolis. Dasha was only 18 at the time, so not a bad start in life. Since then she released a second full length album ‘Ballerina’ in 2017.

Curiously, Dasha appears to have dropped out of sight for now. The last trace I could find of her was 4 years ago when she posted a cover song to her YT channel, aside from which she hasn't released anything for almost 6 years. In one of the interviews I link to she talks about becoming a veterinarian, which takes at least 4 years of study, so perhaps her time is all taken up right now? Hopefully we’ll hear more from her in the future because such a wonderful voice as hers truly deserves to be heard.
The Genius lyrics link did not work for me so I don't know if Dasha Shultz's songs are happy or sad, ebullient or melancholy. They sound pretty positive. She certainly has a very sweet voice. Nice to hear acoustic instruments and not electronica; it suits her delivery more.
A delicious sound. Hope she takes care of animals during the day, and sings songs at night...
