No, not that Georgia!
This Georgia!
A bit of a departure from my usual approach. Rather than edit their songs into a full program, I thought Trio Mandili should be seen as well as heard, since this is a big part of their presentation.
Tatuli Mgeladze - vocals
Mariam Kurasbediani - vocals, panduri
Tako Tsiklauri - vocals
Like the country itself, Trio Mandili is natural beauty at its finest. Visit their site for more great songs and scenes from Georgian village life.
Trio Mandili
Gorgeous melodies. A bit rough around the edges, but good folk music usually is. Leaving it alone was an easy choice as there’s no way I’d attempt to edit their music. It’s perfect just the way it is. (Sneaky eh? Saved myself a lot of work!)
OK, I admit it was also sneaky of me drawing you in with a Ray Charles hook. How can I make it up to you? Yeah, you know the answer to that question, right?
Very nice harmonies as they stroll through the village. Nice touch in "Nu gikvars, kalo!" when the crowd of children fall in behind the girls and start singing. These videos always seem to have extras standing around, taking a break from the fields, as it were. Sort of a breath of fresh air from contemporary pop. urbando
I once had a chess coach from Georgia. She was beautiful and brilliant. There are a lot of women chess players in Georgia.
